Frequently Asked Questions
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, all challenge completions, badges, streaks, and friend connections. This action cannot be undone. If you're a Premium subscriber, make sure to cancel your subscription first.
I lost my streak — can it be recovered?
It depends on your mode (Settings → Streak Mode). In Softcore, one missed day per week is forgiven automatically — a recovery credit is applied at midnight if you have one, and credits refill every Monday. In Normal mode, missed days reset the streak but your data stays intact. In Hardcore, a missed day wipes your progress entirely. We do not manually restore streaks outside of these mechanisms.
I changed my categories, but my challenges didn't update
Category changes apply immediately — unless you've already completed a challenge today. Once you complete anything, your challenge set is locked for the rest of the day so progress can't be gamed, and your new categories take effect when the daily challenges reset at midnight UTC. Also note you can only change your categories once per day.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
Go to Settings → Manage Billing. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can cancel, update your payment method, or view invoices. Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Can I change my email address?
If you signed in with Google, your email is managed by Google. If you signed in with email OTP, contact us at support@risekinetic.com and we can help you update it.
How do reminder notifications work?
Enable them under Settings → Notifications. If you haven't completed a challenge yet that day, we'll send a reminder at the time you choose (in your local timezone). For notifications to reach you while the app is closed, tap Enable under "Push on this device" and allow notifications when prompted. On iPhone and iPad, push notifications only work after you add RiseKinetic to your Home Screen (Share → Add to Home Screen) — this is an Apple limitation. On Android and desktop Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, push works directly in the browser.
I enabled notifications but nothing pops up. How do I fix it?
Push has a few moving parts. Work through these in order — most issues are one of the first three:
- Enable it on this device. In Settings → Notifications, tap Enable on this device and allow the browser prompt. Push is per-device and per-browser — turning it on for your laptop does not turn it on for your phone, and vice versa.
- Check the daily reminder is on and due. The nudge only fires if your Daily reminder toggle is on, your reminder time has arrived today (in your local timezone), and you have not completed a challenge yet today. If today's challenge is already done, there's nothing to remind you about.
- Re-check browser permission. If you previously blocked notifications, Settings shows “Blocked in your browser settings.” Open your browser's site settings for risekinetic.com and switch Notifications back to Allow.
- Turn off Do Not Disturb / Focus. Your operating system can silently suppress notifications — check Focus / Do Not Disturb (macOS, iOS, Android) or Focus Assist (Windows), and make sure your browser is allowed to notify at the OS level.
- Do they still show in the bell? If reminders appear in the in-app bell but never pop up, the issue is push/permission/OS — not our server. The bell works even without push enabled.
Platform-specific notes
- iPhone & iPad (Safari): web push only works after you add RiseKinetic to your Home Screen (Share → Add to Home Screen) and open it from that icon. A normal Safari tab will not receive push. Requires iOS/iPadOS 16.4 or later.
- Chrome & Edge (Android / desktop): work directly in the browser. Confirm Site settings → Notifications is set to Allow, and that your OS allows notifications for the browser.
- Firefox (desktop / Android): works directly; confirm the site permission is allowed and OS notifications are on.
- macOS: System Settings → Notifications → your browser must be set to Allow, with Do Not Disturb / Focus off.
- Windows: Settings → System → Notifications must be on for the browser, with Focus Assist off.
Note: the daily reminder is sent at most once per day, so it won't reappear later the same day even if you don't act on it.
How do friend requests work?
You can send a friend request using another user's email address. They'll see a pending request on their Friends page and can accept or decline. Once connected, you can see each other's streaks and progress.
